So when did Valentine’s Day sneak up?
I’ve been talking about it for weeks over at the boutique but I still have “Happy New Year” written on my kitchen chalkboard! January was a solid month but I already feel like February is slipping away quickly!
I meant to think up a creative DIY project for the holiday to share with you all but I’m sure most of you are as strapped for time as I am so how about a FREE PRINTABLE instead?!
Okay. That’s what I thought.
I love this quote and chose it as a theme for decorating a Valentine’s Day Fireplace Mantle in our living room. Here is how I staged our mantle incorporating this printable I made on card stock.
It reads:
“I wish I could turn back the clock.
I’d find you sooner and love you longer.”
To carry that theme into the mantle, I incorporated several clocks I found lying around the house. I like to reuse what I already have! Sometimes it forces me to get creative!
Then of course, I had to throw in some florals, candles, books and and small rustic touches for our farmhouse style.
I cut out small hearts from old book pages and scattered them through the chicken wire frame for some visual movement. It flows from our photograph.
I think my favorite element of this Valentine’s Day Fireplace Mantle is the clock inside the bell jar with old book pages, a floral hanky and roses. Vintage and romantic!
There are so many theme decor ideas that come to mind with this quote. This is just what I came up with in less than an hour! I would love to do this again but maybe incorporate old black and white photos of our grandparents. Or if I can get around to it, I’d love to make a huge, distressed wooden clock as the focal point!
Love this quote and this theme! Grab your printable below!

[…] First, you’ll need a chicken wire frame. I’ve had this one I made for quite awhile now. It’s displayed jewelry at the Rustic Honey Boutique, and been the backdrop for many fireplace mantle themes like this Valentine’s Day display. […]
