Well my sister’s senior basketball season came to an end last night at Michigan.
As a family, we all watched the game nervously from the living room. I so badly wanted to see her play again in Columbia! Just one last time, I wanted to see her in action, see her throw down nine three pointers, see her team win again!
But the truth is, no matter how many times we have been blessed to experience those events, we will always want more!
I’ll always want those Sunday road trips with the family to Columbia! A mini family reunion of sorts at the arena to see Morgan.
I’ll always want those chills I get when she sinks the shot at the most intense, critical moments.
I’ll always want that pride wearing her number on the back of my shirt.
I’ll always want to hold Ren up and say “Look, Aunt Mo is on TV!”
As sad as we are to see it “come to an end,” I know we couldn’t have imagined a better experience for Morgan or this little place in Missouri she calls home. We didn’t see anything like this coming! Her successes will be talked about in this tiny town for the rest of her life!
The only topic more popular than the weather or the crop market report in Montrose, may just be Morgan Eye.
I just shake my head in disbelief at all she has accomplished. We’ll never forget this ride and I know she won’t either!
Can’t wait to see what the next chapter holds for “my little sister” who has become such an inspirational young woman!
Smiling through the tears,
– Lauren
