If you’re craving something salty and a bit savory, this Tex-Mex Snack Mix recipe will hit the spot! More exciting than your typical “ho-hum Chex mix” with some traditional tex-mex flavors added in. This recipe comes together quickly and easily with just a few ingredients. You’ll probably even have the spices on hand!
I couldn’t believe the cool, crisp weather as I stepped out of the house this morning! It’s beginning to feel a bit more like fall here already! And it’s still August! I have to remind myself and keep my day planner in front of me to even remember what day it is!
As much as I’m doing my best to soak up these fading days of summer, I can’t help but start to get pumped up for my favorite season of all! FALL!
I’ve been working on new fall arrivals for Rustic Honey Boutique and planning my fall schedule with the new roaming boutique trailer. Life is about to get very busy! I was just telling my husband the other night I should pretend I’m having another baby in a month named Rustic Honey and stock the freezer with make-ahead meals! I didn’t cook for at least a month after Roric arrived! If only I could reproduce that nesting energy in the next couple of weeks! I’m trying my best with coffee… but it’s just not the same!
Anyway, enough jabber… I just hadn’t chatted with you in awhile! 😉
Here’s an easy and yummy snack mix Ren and I made earlier this summer. Great for parties or just a small group of friends. Good with beer…just sayin’… you know you were thinking it too! 😉
Hope you enjoy!
Tex-Mex Snack Mix
Ingredients:
- 3 cups Cheez-its (I prefer the white cheddar)
- 1 can (12 oz) Mixed Nuts
- 4 Tbsp. Butter, Melted
- 1 tsp. Chili Powder
- 1/2 tsp. Cumin Powder
- 1/4 tsp. Garlic Powder
Directions:
- Combine the Cheez-its with the mixed nuts in a large bowl and set aside.
- Melt the butter and stir in the seasonings. Pour the seasoned butter over the snack mix and toss to coat.
- Line a sheet pan with foil or parchment and spread the snack mix on top.
- Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes to toast, stirring once half-way through. Allow to cool.
- Serve right away or store in an air-tight container.
Make it your own with your choice of Cheez-its or Chex cereal… could even toss in some pretzel sticks! Super-easy and a great savory snack as we head into football season!
