The past couple months have been busy for farmers. After such a “rain delay” this spring, they had to hit the ground running when it would finally dry up!
We were finally able to get our hay baled and put away just a few short weeks ago. Ren got to help!
We love family ride-along time in the tractor!
Although it can make a little guy pretty tired.
Admiring those sweet baby legs… what a view! (heart eyes)
Just a few mornings ago we started our day moving some fence and feeding the cows. Ren LOVED it too! It hit me how proud I feel to be raising our son on a farm. I LOVED growing up on a farm, especially all of the summertime memories I have from my experiences.
I love the smell of the grain trucks headed to town to unload. Maybe it’s the old truck smell I love but either way it’s memorable.
I love the way my dad’s farmer tan gets fully defined during these summer months… although, it never seems to fade. It’s permanent.
I love the fresh food! Our garden didn’t do too well this year but I do have fresh corn for dinner tonight thanks to a good neighbor!
As a farm kid, there was always something to be done in the summertime. Move some equipment with dad, buck bales, pull weeds (I used to walk the fields with my best friend), and take lunch to the guys out in the field (they can’t stop for lunch when the sky finally clears!).
There was a lot to be done in the summertime and I know back then bucking bales and pulling weeds wasn’t “fun” but it sure brings a smile to my face now looking back on those times.
I’m excited for Renzy to experience many more summertime memories on the farm. I sure think it’s a great place to be!
