About 10 days ago, on a Saturday evening, we baptized our sweet little boy.
It was a special day for us and of course a special day for Ren! We gathered our families for the occasion.
Grandma Eye (my mom, Carla) helped Ren put on his baptismal gown. This gown was handmade by Grandma Moran (Cindy, my mother-in-law) and all of her grandchildren have been baptized in it.
We chose Dan’s brother, Matt and my sister, Morgan to be godparents. (Unfortunately my sister could not attend that afternoon because of her obligations at school).
Ren watched Father very intently.
I think he is praying here. 🙂
He did so well and didn’t even cry!
And now it’s official; Ren is baptized!
We celebrated afterwards at our house. Yes, you read that correctly. We actually have enough space at our house now to host family dinners! It’s so amazing!
Here is cousin, Kylie giving Ren a big hug!
We had an early supper that evening and the menu read as follows:
Supper:
- Soulful Soups (Potato Soup, Fiesta Soup & Chili)
- Heavenly Hot Dogs (For chili dogs and/or for the kids)
- Blessed Breads (Cornbread & Hot Dog Buns)
- Trinity Toppings (Cheese, Bacon, Green Onions, Sour Cream, Etc. – 3 for each soup)
Dessert:
- Angel Cake & Baptism Brownie Bites
- Paradise Punch
I couldn’t help myself once I started assigning names to every item on the menu! I must always have a theme! 🙂
(And of course I didn’t think to take any photos of the food and decor! What a great blogger I am!) I’ll have to hit you with a recipe or two soon instead!
The evening was filled with love, laughter and celebration! It was a great way to breathe new life into our home after months of renovations. It felt so good to feel “at home” again.
Ren and his cousin Luke are only 4.5 months apart. We already have so much fun watching them play together. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for these lil squirts!
“AH! Mom, can you chill with the flash here?! We are trying to play!”
Love these boys, love this family, love these memories!
Happy Baptism Ren! Congrats!
