This mailbox makeover has been a long time coming! We’ve somehow managed to renovate almost every square inch of our property while still overlooking our shabby mailbox. And when I say shabby… I mean SHABBY!
It was shabby in the sense that the door tab was completely gone.
Shabby, like the door would hardly open… yet when it stormed it would blow wide-open!
Shabby, like you had to rig up the flag just right to mail something out…
Shabby, like the numbers were long gone…
And even so shabby I got an earful from a disgruntled FedEx man one day. He was lost and my mailbox was no help! He was a bit of a “city boy” and hasn’t been back on my route ever since. Haha!
So it was time for a makeover. It had finally come time to pull this baby off the back-burner!
Since our shabby mailbox was long past saving, we bought a new, black mailbox. We spray painted the existing mount and pole and I got to work on some custom Silhouette artwork for the sides.
I designed and cut the vinyl artwork using my Silhouette Cameo.
I love making my own designs on that software! It’s so easy and the options are endless! You can download this FREE Silhouette Cut File template from the link below.
I cut everything out and carefully transferred it to the outside of the mailbox. NOTE: I did all of the transferring before mounting the mailbox! Much easier!
I love how the custom monogram turned out! I feel like it fits our farmhouse style just right!
Such an improvement!
And look mom, this mailbox actually has a handle! Haha!
We even check the mail in our muck boots! 😉

Hope you found some inspiration here and a good laugh at our old mailbox! That old picture makes me giggle!
Have a great week y’all!
