Yay! I’m finally about to reveal our kitchen remodel!
It just took me awhile to actually have a clean kitchen for more than five minutes so I could take some pictures! Funny how that happens!
I AM LOVING my new kitchen and I am so happy with how it turned out! During our renovation, we added onto the existing kitchen which saved us some money but also challenged me a bit creatively with the design and layout.
Pinterest was a great visual tool during our renovation. If I had an idea in my head, I would search there first to see if I could visualize how to use the idea in our home. I searched for anything from “built-in microwaves” to “vintage pantries.” It was a great way to find visual inspiration for our space.

I discovered the show Fixer Upper on HGTV during our renovation and boy-oh-boy was it inspiring! I love absolutely everything Joanna Gaines throws into her designs! The kitchen below is from the show and I was very inspired by the windows and mixed materials with the contrast of black fixtures.

(We lived in my parent’s basement toward the end of our renovation and I took full advantage of my parent’s DVR, recording EVERY episode of Fixer Upper! I watch so much I feel like I know Chip and Joanna on a personal level… or maybe I just wish I did! Haha!)
We had open shelving before the renovation and I wanted to add some regular cabinets but keep the concept open and airy like this:
I wanted some cabinets with glass and preferred a tall and narrow look. I felt it would better match the era of our home.
And I HAD TO HAVE a statement piece. A lovely, show-stopper like this:
As soon as we decided to add more space in the kitchen I knew I wanted a hutch as my pantry! It adds more character to the space and goes back to the roots of our home.
This is a photo of our kitchen before. If you would like to see more of my original kitchen before/after you can find those photos here.
I loved my little farmhouse kitchen but now I have my dream kitchen and it is so much more efficient than before… complete with a dishwasher! I actually use my kitchen so this room was of utmost importance to me during the renovation!
You might hate me but I’m making you wait until tomorrow to see the final reveal! It’s just too much for one post, folks!
See you tomorrow!
