Hi.
It’s me. I’m still here…
Some of you may have been wondering if I was ever coming back!
I don’t really know where to jump back into this blogging thing but it only seems right to go back to where we left off…
Exactly six weeks ago today, we welcomed a new baby BOY into our world!
Six weeks ago, the Royals played a history-making wildcard game to enter the playoffs. While counting contractions, I watched with goose bumps as they claimed the win. Between the exciting win and increasing contractions, Dan and I decided after five minutes in bed we should get up and head to the hospital. We were admitted, got little sleep through the night and finally met our little boy at 3:16 the following afternoon.
I can’t even begin to describe the moment I first laid eyes on our baby. It was a feeling like no other I have ever experienced in my life! It was surreal I guess you could say… it took me a minute to breathe again as I watched the doctor hold him up and he let out his first cry. I was completely overcome with emotion and tears flowed as I smiled in relief, excitement and love. What a feeling!
After things settled down a bit we were almost ready to present him to our family who had been waiting patiently in the waiting room all day! We realized we needed to choose a name so we could introduce him properly. Dan and I had narrowed our names down to two for each a boy and a girl. I thought meeting the baby would finally make up our minds or one would fit just right… that didn’t happen. Ha!
We went back and forth between our two names but finally decided on Renzy (Ren) William Moran. Renzy was my great-grandfather’s name on my dad’s side and William is a family name on Dan’s side and also Dan’s middle name.
Our family flooded into our hospital room to meet the baby. They still didn’t know if the baby was a boy or a girl! My ornery husband made them continue to wait!
“It’s a BOY!!!”
Excitement filled the room! “This is Ren,” we said as we introduced him to our families. And he stole their hearts in that moment too.
Six weeks later, here we are…
Life = officially changed
I already look back and laugh at our adjustments to parenthood in those early days. Like the day we left the hospital and it took Dan and I in a group effort to dress Ren for the first time. It seriously took us at least 10 minutes… to put on a sleeper! Ha! After many sleepless nights and what seems like 1000 dirty diapers, we are finally getting the hang of things.
With little fingers and little toes…life has changed and life is good.
I’ll keep it short and sweet for now but know I am constantly blogging in my brain and can’t wait to settle back into this little place on the web. Thanks for continuing to visit with me!
See you again soon!

I was just thinking of you the other day and said a short little prayer that all was well and you were just occupied with other wonderful things. God bless Ren (great name!) and his mama and papa.
