Hi Friends!
Is everyone enjoying this AMAZING weather?! If you have been reading this blog for very long, you know fall is my absolute favorite season! The air is crisp, cool and clean… making it much easier for this prego-gal to take a much-needed deep breath! 😉
Seems like all we do these days is work on the house. Between cleaning up demolition scraps, Dan back-filling the dirt around the house, and preparing for each team of workers to arrive, we are constantly working on something!
Not to mention regular chores around the farm…
Can you believe how green it was in August?! Hoping for a colorful fall!
We are moving right along with the house. We had a couple snags with our heating/cooling plans which has turned into another delay. A two-week delay here, more rain, and and another two-week there and before you know it, we definitely won’t be hitting our baby due-date deadline.
Someone enjoyed the raining mornings…
You wouldn’t have caught me cursing the rain even though it held up progress! We can’t turn down rain in August!
Even though we have been bummed about getting behind on our plans, I have to say I’m getting so excited for it to be finished… hopefully sooner than later. But boy-oh-boy will it be worth it in the end!
Meanwhile, Baby Moran is wiggling like crazy and feeling bigger than ever! I’m getting so nervous (and excited) about meeting the little one. Here I am at 35 weeks (now 37 as I write this!) Time is flying!
Oh yeah… house… you wanted to see the house! 😉
Framing finished, windows in and roofers starting soon!
I was so excited about the windows (another carefully thought out detail… AKA “over-thought detail”) Love them!
Our small living space is now a huge open area!
Before…
After…
Large beams now hold up the second floor of our house. We will soon have a fireplace around the center beam.
And here is the view from our kitchen. This is where the old porch (sunroom) was…
Before…
It is now much bigger and open to the living room. I plan to find a farmhouse table to grace this new dining area.
Seeing the before pictures is tough right now but I can already envision the best “after” photos when it’s all done! You definitely have to be optimistic and have a distinct vision to pull off a renovation like this! It has not been an easy process tearing into our little home!
A look into our evenings…
Dan discussing progress and plans with his dad, Darrel. So happy we have an experienced contractor in the family to help us thoughout this process!
More progress in the past two weeks since these photos so hang in there and I’ll get those up as well! I better get on it though as we are only a few (I hope) weeks away from baby’s arrival!
Thanks for stopping in!
Lauren
