Great For Grilling: Our Favorite All-Purpose Seasoning

In the past, I think I’ve expressed to you all my love for handmade community cook books. You know the ones you get from school or church fundraisers… they are absolutely the BEST! You know why?

Because the recipes are ALL tried and true, all-time family favorite, passed-down-kind-of-recipes!

The recipe I’m about to share with you is no different. I inherited this recipe from my mother-in-law who actually first discovered this recipe in an old church cook book. It’s named “Bill’s Seasoning” in the book and that’s what all the Moran’s call it around here.

I don’t know who Bill is or if it’s even referring to a person at all but either way, this stuff is great! Thanks Bill (if you exist)!

I’ve made a few tweaks to the recipe and my mother-in-law makes her adjustments here and there as well. It’s probably slightly different every time I make it… with a heavy hand here or there the flavor is consistently grand! So don’t be afraid to throw it together while your child is having his evening fussy time. You’ll do just fine!

This recipe makes a large batch so it is perfect to share with your friends and family! Grab a cute container and a chalkboard label and you may just be on your way to a GREAT DIY MOTHER’S DAY GIFT! 😉

I typically recycle an empty parmesan container for the seasoning (another wonderful tip from my mother-in-law).

Simply season your veggies, poultry, pork, beef (WHATEVER YOUR HEART DESIRES) with this savory DIY seasoning! I swear our grilled chicken breasts are the absolute best because of this seasoning!

Notes
Be sure to break up the dried herbs as you add them; it helps release their flavors.[br][br]I sometimes substitute the coriander for cumin. Love the smokiness![br][br]If you really want to blend the seasonings well, throw them into a food processor!

I hope you give it a try! Let me know what you think!

Thanks for stoppin’ by!
