I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and a splendid New Year! I took a long break this past week after Christmas and it was much needed after a busy boutique season! Thank you to all of my readers and boutique customers! I appreciate it!
Sometimes a break away from the day-to-day is just what you need to appreciate it all again. I’m excited to start fresh in 2015 and see what it has in store. I’ve already made my long list of resolutions and “to-do’s” for the year… and I have COMPLETELY annoyed my husband talking about them! Ha!
I get REALLY excited about new years!
I have a list of resolutions like…
- Being present and grateful
- Eating better and exercising
Then I have a list of to-do’s that I need to accomplish ASAP like…
- File my photos from 2014 (if I don’t they will eat me alive there are so many!)
- Clean and update my iphone (my software is so old I can’t download anything anymore! And the photo issue I mentioned is out of control!)
I like having broad resolutions and then also having to-do’s that I can accomplish right away! Makes you feel good! 🙂
So yesterday, on the long road to Columbia to watch my sister’s basketball game, I scrolled through ALL the photos on my phone… deleting and editing along the way… narrowing it down to 1200 or so! I’m not exaggerating… I have a problem!
It was fun to relive the year through photos! I thought I’d share the year’s highlights with you.
Hunting with Dan on New Year’s Day 2014:
Walks with Bear in the spring (RIP sweet guy):
Watching my sister set records in the SEC! I’m a very proud big sis:
Finding out I was pregnant… and imagining the baby as the size of a blueberry! Unreal!
Harvesting a TON from our garden and canning… as long as I could with my growing belly and tired, sore feet.
Beginning our house renovation/restoration:
Sharing pregnancy with my two best friends! You can’t make this up!
Watching the Royals with my grandma for her 80th birthday! Love her!
A little summer-break with my sister, Morgan:
An anniversary:
A Royal World Series! I went into labor the night of the wild card game…
Hours upon hours of watching Dan work on the house…even after baby’s arrival!
The best smile I’ve ever seen:
Coming home for Christmas. Notice the stickers still on windows and a door unattached…but it was perfect!
Our first family photo:
Celebrating three baby boys at year’s end! I don’t think any of us saw that coming! Love God’s plans!Of course the best part of 2014 for us was the birth of our son, Ren. What was your best memory of 2014?
One of my resolutions last year was to keep a journal and what an amazing year it was to do so! I love that all those memories are now documented. I plan to continue so I can remember all these little moments with Ren for years to come and maybe he will enjoy them one day too.
Do you get excited for the new year? What are your resolutions?Â
Happy New Year!
-Lauren
