It was exactly a year ago yesterday that “Baby Moran” and I were showered with love and gifts from friends and family.
It was such a memorable day… a realization of the journey into the motherhood lay before me in the form of diapers, wipes, bottles and diapers. Diapers.
Lots of diapers which I was VERY thankful for a few months down the road when I failed to add them to my grocery list. That can happen to us new moms.
A year later, diapers, wipes and other baby necessities make a running appearance at the top of my grocery list. Never to be forgotten.
I wanted to share these simple, cheap, DIY baby shower invites with you. (These photos are from my shower a year ago… just so no one thinks I’m prego again! Haha!) You can spend so much money on invites these days, it’s just crazy!
Save money like I did and download and print this FREE invite (made by me, there is no catch – promise!) onto the paper of your choice and grab some twine and your favorite washy tape. Between the paper and tape colors, you can customize this in so many ways!
Set up an assembly line (maybe while you watch TV at night).
Fold the tape over the twine.
Then just cut small triangles out at the bottoms to form the banner.
Punch small holes at the top of the invite, thread the banner through and tie at the back.
Another easy assembly line (this time with a glass of wine… unless you are the pregnant one of course!) 😉
BONUS: Free “please bring a book” printable!
I requested books instead of cards at my shower. It was a great way to build up a library for Ren and we love looking back at which books are from whom.
What you need:
- Kraft Paper (or paper of choice)
- Twine
- Washy Tape (decorative tape of choice)
- Scissors
- Printer/Computer Access
- *Scrapbook paper cutter is handy to cut invites apart

NOTE: I printed this on 8.5” x 11” card stock so each invitation is roughly 8.5” x 5.5” and I used 6” x 9” envelopes for mailing. You can scale up or down when printing from your computer if you’d like.

Hi I was wondering how i can edit the printable and add my information onto it. Thankyou Cindy
laurenrustichoney says
Hi Cindy! If you click on the link for the free printable above you will see that it is a generic invite listing the “what, where, who and when” for you party. If you want a customized printable I could probably do that for you for a minimal fee but it will have to be edited on my program. Please email me at therustichoney@gmail.com if you would like to go that route or want a quote! Thanks for stopping by my blog! 🙂

Hi Lauren, thanks for sharing this beautiful invitation! What size card stock (8.5×11?) and envelopes (6×9?) did you use? Just curious if these are as large as they appear or if you scaled it down at all. Thank you so much!
laurenrustichoney says
Hi Natalie! Thanks for stopping by! I did print on 8.5 x 11 card stock. There are two invites per page so they are roughly 8.5 x 5.5 each and I did use a 6×9 envelope. You could scale them down when you print if you like. Keep in mind you may need to also use a small washi tape for the banner if you do that. Let me know if you have any more questions! Hope that cleared things up! 🙂

Yes, perfect! Thank you!

Hi, Thank you for the free printables. May I ask what font you have in your personalized for the mother’s name and “Sunday At One”? It’s a beautiful font!

Sure Kailey! Thanks for stopping by the Rustic Honey blog! I believe the mother’s name is “contribute” and the “at” is called “dragon is coming”… both were free downloads on dafont.com. Hope that helps! 😊

Yes! Thanks so much!

Hi Lauren – could I get a quote on a customized version of the invite? Thanks!!

Hi Ashley, I’m sending you a private email as we speak. 🙂 I need to get these posted on shoprustichoney.com ASAP!

I’m having trouble sizing it down, I wanted them to be a little smaller. Thanks for the help!
laurenrustichoney says
Hi Kayla! Thanks for stopping by! When you open the PDF, click print (or control P) and then you can make it smaller by adjusting the percentage scale from your print settings (the print screen pop-up menu). It should say 100% and you can adjust as small as you would like. It will still only print two per page. If you need further customization, I now have a customization listing for on shoprustichoney.com. Let me know if you have any other questions. I hope that helped! 🙂
