This simple recipe has become a staple in our home for Easter. I love how easy these empty tomb rolls are with just a handful of ingredients. My kids are always excited to jump in the kitchen and make these with me.
Not only are these rolls, warm, sweet and delicious but they also spur a deeper conversation about the meaning of Easter and why we celebrate.
As my children wrap the marshmallows (Jesus) in the rolls (tomb) we talk about the miracle of His resurrection and why He died on the cross. I hope this tradition and these memories will stick with my kids for many years to come.

How To Make: Empty Tomb Rolls
These rolls are a fun and delicious way to teach the true meaning of Easter. To make them, you will need crescent roll dough, marshmallows, melted butter, cinnamon, and sugar.
First, preheat your oven to 375°F. Then, combine the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl. Next, take a marshmallow and roll it in melted butter before rolling it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Take a piece of crescent roll dough and wrap it around the coated marshmallow, making sure to seal the edges. Place the rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a cupcake tin but liners and bake for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Allow to cool for a few minutes. When you cut the rolls open, they will be empty just like the tomb of Jesus on Easter morning! This is a great way to share the message of hope and new life that comes from the resurrection of Jesus.

Empty Tomb Rolls
Empty Tomb Rolls are a quick and simple Easter recipe that can help remind us of the true meaning of the holiday. Here's how to make them:
Ingredients
- 8 large marshmallows
- 1 can of refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1/4 cup of melted butter
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Mix together the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
3. Melt the butter in another small bowl.
4. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
5. Creating an assembly line, dip each marshmallow into the melted butter and then roll it in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Then place a coated marshmallow on the wide end of each triangle and roll it up, making sure to seal the edges.
6. Once the marshmallows are all wrapped, dip them back into the butter and sugar mixture once more for a nice exterior coating.
7. Place the rolls on parchment paper or in a muffin tin lined with cupcake wrappers and bake for 13-15 minutes or until rolls are golden brown. *may refer to baking instructions of your chosen refrigerated dough.
8. Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. When you bite into them, the marshmallow will have melted, leaving an "empty tomb" inside the roll.
Enjoy!
