Today I wanted to show some easy spiderweb cupcakes I made earlier this week. I couldn’t resist and it is only 12 more days until HALLOWEEN!

I’m sure some of you have made these before but for those of you that haven’t, here is an easy to follow step-by-step.

How To Make Easy DIY: Spiderweb Cupcakes

Step 1

Kidnap your mother’s kitchen while she is at work (You only need this step if your stove is still MIA).

Oh, hey mom! Ha!

Step 2

Bake your cupcakes (according to the package if you used a box mix like me!). Allow to cool and possibly eat one while the second batch is cooling…

I know what you are thinking…maybe the cupcake is small.. or maybe Lauren has big hands? NOPE! I really took that MONSTER BITE! I was hungry I guess! HA!

Step 3

Ice your cupcakes with white colored frosting.

Step 4

Once cupcakes are iced, add food coloring to the remaining icing and scoop into a sandwich bag. Cut a small tip off the corner and you are ready to pipe the cupcakes.

You can do whatever color combinations you wish! I chose vanilla frosting and orange coloring. I also think chocolate cupcakes and icing would be cool with white spider web frosting!

Start by making a dot at the center of the cupcake. Then a circle around the dot.

Then another circle around the exterior. (Okay, so I’m no Martha Stewart… but I’m trying to color inside the lines here)

Now take a tooth pick and drag the icing from the center outward to the edge of the cupcake.

Continue this process around the cupcake from center to edge.  Go all the way around the radius of the cupcake and before you know it, you have a spiderweb!

So easy and cute! Add a couple spider rings for kids and you have a great party dessert!
