The air is getting warmer, the sun is staying up longer and those flowers are starting to bloom – it’s time to freshen up our home decor as well today! Come along with me as I spruce up our farmhouse for spring and add in those Easter touches along the way.
Easter Decorate With Me Video:
Easter Farmhouse Decor:
There’s nothing quite like that fresh spring air and warm sunshine after a long winter! I always look forward to opening the windows and feeling that fresh country air sweep through our home. I can hear the birds singing and my kids playing happily in the backyard. It’s a time of new beginnings and hope!
Spring brings with it a renewed energy too. It motivates to us to clean our homes, dust off the furniture and mop up the floors removing what’s left of those messy winter snows. I enjoy giving my home a fresh start in the spring too!
Easter Farmhouse Living Room:
I’ll start in the main living area today freshening up our mantle with some distressed candle sticks, a DIY boxwood wreath adorned with some colorful blossoms and an antique screen. I left this area fairly minimal but I love how it’s fresh and airy for spring!
If you’re interested in making your own boxwood wreath, I have a simple DIY tutorial for that project HERE. I love to change up the items in the wreath throughout the seasons. You can do a lot with a simple green wreath!
Easter Farmhouse Dining Room:
This farmhouse of our is in dire need of a spring clean top to bottom! I tried my best to wipe things down and dust as I decorate each space. It seems to be the most realistic way to get my spring cleaning done these days with three littles underfoot. We have a lot of messes if you can imagine!
Moving into the dining room, I’ll fill an antique toolbox with new faux florals I found this spring at our local Walmart. I was surprised by the selection and quality this spring and found some a mix of lavender, lambs ear and some baby’s breath which made the perfect backdrop for some Easter eggs!
In the video you’ll see an Easter egg dye set I bought at Walmart. These faux eggs are lightweight and perfect for my farmhouse decor! I simply cut the cardboard egg container in half to make my decorating go further throughout the dining room and kitchen!
This mini Easter bunny was a recent find at a local coffee shop and boutique called Four Fillies Mercantile. I fell in love with the little fella and just had to bring him home. The bunny is heavy like a paper weight and will be a part of my spring decor for years to come! Gotta love those quality pieces!
Easter Farmhouse Kitchen:
Lastly, I worked to update our open shelving in our farmhouse kitchen. I love moving items around on these shelves to keep things fresh each season… and also drive my husband insane when he helps put dishes away! Haha!
You may have seen my Valentine’s Day Decor video where I up cycled some old wood into XOXO’s for our mantle. Once again, I untied those pieces of wood and repurposed them into a cross fitting for Easter decor.
I love using decor in many ways throughout the year – it’s less to store away and encourages me to get creative with what I already have on hand!
You’ll even notice a little white bunny here on my shelf – it’s a wind up toy! Haha! Sometimes you just have to get creative with what you have at home!
I hope you found some inspiration and motivation to get your home ready for Easter! Let me know in the comments which piece of decor was your favorite? I’d love to chat with you there!
Thanks for stopping by our farmhouse,
Lauren
