It happened on my way home from work on Valentine’s Day. My mind was racing, I was tired, overwhelmed, anxious, and did I mention tired? Then I realized I had it…again. No matter how hard I try to prevent it, it comes on quickly like a nasty touch of the flu – unexpected, unpleasant and downright ugly… Chick Brain.
My mind flashed back to when I told Dan I didn’t want anything for Valentine’s Day – no flowers, no chocolates, no gifts, nothing, nada, zilch! Then just as I was driving home I realized I really did want flowers waiting for me on Valentine’s Day-Chick Brain. Oh and chocolates and dinner would be awesome right now too – Chick Brain. And I bought him a new shirt for vacation so that was kind of a gift… so surely he got me a gift – Chick Brain.
Wow! I’m so glad I was able to recognize the symptoms right away – diagnosis is half the battle when it comes to Chick Brain. When I got home I saw , despite my prior instruction and doubt, a long-stem, yellow rose (my favorite) with a card. He even wrote a sweet note inside…an additional step for a tough cowboy! I was on cloud nine! So after all the drama in my brain, Valentine’s Day was complete… surely I’ll be in the clear for at least another year! Right!
{ROAD TRIP}
Arkansas, here we come!
This weekend we are heading south to Fayetteville, AR for some weekend vacation fun and some basketball action! ROAD TRIP!
This morning we were a little slow to get on the road. Dan had to move some cattle this morning and much to our surprise we woke up to a winter wonderland! My jaw dropped in delight as I peered out the window to see everything covered in snow… despite the weather forecast of “a few flurries”!
There is nothing more beautiful than a snow-covered sunrise in our neck of the woods. The neighbor’s rooster was sounding his alarm this morning as I took these photos:
We are finally on the road south. The sun is shining and we have our snacks for the road trip – it is not that far away, but it is a well-known fact that every road trip is not complete without snacks!
Can’t wait to see Fayetteville! From what I have heard it is a neat little town and I can’t wait to explore! I will recap the vacation highlights later! Maybe some great food, brews, scenery and hopefully some great basketball!
Have a great weekend!
