Some days you just need a good, hearty, home cooked meal to fill your belly and your heart. This simple beer bread has to be part of your next comfort food menu!
I love making this beer bread alongside a slow-cooked roast or stew. It’s hearty and buttery with a soft center and crunchy exterior. Hard to explain how scrumptious it is so just trust me and try this recipe!
Anyone can make this bread! You don’t have to be a “baker” to pull this one off!
It’s so simple and I hope your family will love it as much as mine!
Beer Bread
It’s exactly as it sounds… bread made with beer. Maybe it’s the name that makes my husband request this recipe…
The beer is what makes this recipe so simple! Here’s how:
- 3 c. Flour
- 4 tsp. Baking Powder
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1/3 c. Sugar
- 1 Can Beer (minus one swig) đ
- 1/2 c. Melted Butter (That’s correct, one stick of butter!)
- Mix together the dry ingredients. Then pour in the beer and combine.
- Place dough in a greased bread loaf pan.
- Melt the stick of butter and pour over the top of the dough.
- Bake at 375 degrees for about 55-60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool for a few minutes then slice into thick pieces for serving.
We usually serve the beer bread with an additional spread of butter (no shame!)
Would be delicious served with honey butter too!
NOTE: I find that this bread is absolutely the tastiest when fresh because the top is crunchy and buttery. It will keep for a few days in a sealed container but I definitely prefer it on day one! I like to make it when we have company to share it with!
I hope beer bread becomes a family favorite in your home as well!
Here are a few main dish recipes that would pair well with beer bread:
Easy Crock Pot Roast & VeggiesÂ
Crock Pot Cowboy Stew
Sweet & Spicy Crock Pot Chili
Chicken Fried SteakÂ
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you can enjoy this tasty treat this rainy, cool weekend!
THIS WEEKEND:
If you live locally, come see me this Saturday (4/29/17) in Clinton! I’ll be taking out the Rustic Honey Mobile Boutique for a quick pop-up at Pizza Glen Saturday 11-3! It looks like it will be cool and rainy but I promise the inside of the trailer will be worth the trip out! AND obviously Pizza Glen is ALWAYS worth a trip!
Hope to see you there!
