I don’t know about you, but I can ALWAYS use a few last-minute ideas during holidays. I always think I’ll throw together the perfect party with adorable decorations, yummy food and fun entertainment for everyone weeks in advance!
I think Pinterest gives us all that false sense of hope…
My Pinterest parties are amazing! Haha!
Anyway, I thought as I was gathering some LAST-MINUTE ideas for the 4th, I would share them with you… just in case!
Here are some adorable, fruity and colorful recipes that will impress guests at your party this Independence Day!
Here’s To A Fruit-filled 4th!
4th of July Dipped Strawberries – The Farm Girl
Strawberries are so affordable right now, making them perfect for a party! Dip them in white chocolate, followed by blue chocolate (could use food coloring). I’ve also seen folks dip these in blue sprinkles but hey, I’m all for DOUBLE chocolate layers on my fruit! 😉
Red, White & Blue Sangria – Joyful Details
I think for anyone else prego out there like me or for the kiddos, this would be equally delicious as a non-alcoholic beverage. Top the fruit with one part lemonade and a half-part Sprite or carbonated water. So refreshing and yummy!
Patriotic Ice Cream Flag Cake – Examiner
Going to be late for the party?! To create a super-fast, super-easy ice cream cake, layer ice cream sandwiches into the bottom of your pan and cover with cool whip and berries. You can’t go wrong!
Fruit Flag Pizza – Lilly @ Recipe By Photo
Love how this fruit flag pizza comes together! You could also use a sugar cookie crust or pre-made pie crust. I would probably switch out the bananas for marshmallows or extra whipped cream (to avoid brown bananas when waiting on company to arrive). Make it pretty by adding small, pretty circles of whipped cream from a can. FANCY! HA!
Watermelon Stars – Jamielyn @ I Heart Naptime
And finally, nothing says “July 4th” like watermelon! Jamielyn @ I Heart Naptime really makes me want a star-shaped cookie cutter! None the less, you cannot go wrong when bringing a fresh, juicy and bright RED watermelon to your 4th of July backyard BBQ! It’s an appetizer, refresher, and dessert all-in-one!
Also, be sure to swing on over to I Heart Naptime to see another fruity dessert with bananas and cherries! Looks so cute!
What are you planning to make this weekend?
I’m thinking I’ll find something fruity… how about you?
Have a great Independence Day! Remember those who fight for our freedom this weekend!

Hope you had a good 4th! I’m so excited to have watermelon from our garden this summer! We really will be living on it if we have as many as we did last year! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
