2019: Let’s Review & Reflect

Every year I make an intentional effort to look back at the last 365 days and recount everything that happened. The optimist in me mostly takes a close look at the many blessings in my life, which is easiest to do through the highlight reel of our photographs. It’s not too often you find a photo from a bad day (unless it was a serious mom fail… which I tend to document and laugh about later). But I also do my best to remember the lessons and failures along the way. Reflect on what the year taught me, moments that brought tears, maybe both happy and sad. Ask the hard questions… which lets’ be honest, it’s a hard enough to remember what I did yesterday… let alone seven or eight months ago! Anyone with me on that?!

I try to keep a journal (which as a young mom means I may only write in it ten days out of the entire year) but I can tell you how much I LOVE going back to read those entries months and years later!

I’m also a huge photo collector! You can ask my mom… who is still probably bombarded with shoe boxes full of old photos printed from the disposable camera I always seemed to have glued to my hand in high school! Fast forward a bit… I’ve turned into quite the professional cell phone photographer! My kids may not always get the perfect photoshoots but damn if they won’t have a selection of blackmail for their high school graduations some day! Haha!

Anyway, the point I’m trying to make is to take a few minutes to slow down, watch the old videos, organize the photos from the entire year and maybe even write down your lessons learned in 2020. The good, the bad, the ugly but undoubtedly all blessings in their own right. Reflect, find peace, and most importantly move into 2020, a new decade with conscious intentions for the road ahead.

Now, very selfishly, I’d like to reflect below on 2019 in photos! (This counts as one of my ten journal entries for the year, okay?! Help me out!)
