Counting Down The Days & Cherishing Little Moments

Counting Down The Days & Cherishing Little Moments

Here we are just counting down the days. I’m still not convinced this baby is going to wait until June 9th to make his/her appearance. But then again, maybe that’s just a pregnant-crabby-waddling-mom-of-a-toddler talking. I’m more than ready!

I still have a “list” of items I would have like to accomplish in business before baby arrives but to be honest the that list is becoming less and less important by the hour. I have all the important things crossed off and systems in place.

The only thing that seems to matter right now is spending more time with my little boy. I’m getting a bit emotional thinking about the fact that it won’t just be him anymore. I know life will seem all the more complete once his new sibling arrives but it doesn’t stop me from sobbing reminiscently about all the fun we’ve had together over the last two and a half years! We’re buddies, two peas in a pod, and partners in crime!

I just can’t believe how fast time has gone!

Today Ren and I sat outside for a bit to enjoy this gorgeous, sunny May weather. With bare feet on the back porch, we shared a few giggles and each other’s company over a popcorn snack (our favorite!). He rode his little red tricycle like a pro across the porch. We sent a silly, smiley snapchat to daddy. And just when I was looking out across the yard, my mind wandering, I felt two little arms wrap around my neck from behind and a little soft cheek rub against my face. Mmmmwah! A big ole kiss from my little guy! I just want to bottle up these little moments! <3

I’m so excited to meet our newest addition. I often wonder what personality the new baby will have and how different or how similar the baby will be to Ren. I’m sure we’ll be thrown for a loop with the next one because that seems to be “parenthood” at its best. One challenge and change after the next. None of which we would change for the world!

The second pregnancy has flown by and there were definitely less photos and diary passages! Haha! I feel more relaxed about everything which also brings me a bit of anxiety… like I’m being naive or forgetful about all the work the new baby will be… especially with another little one at home!

I could worry myself to death but I think I’m just at peace knowing everything will end up the way it is meant to be. There is a plan beyond my control anyway. We’ll have lots (and lots) of sleepless nights, feedings, dirty diapers, temper tantrums, potty training woes, toy overload, cluttered rooms, loads of laundry and LOTS AND LOTS OF LOVE!

We couldn’t be more excited to add a little more love to our home this summer!

I’ll keep you posted on baby’s arrival! Be sure to follow me on Instagram @therustichoney for the first photos! I’m sure I’ll make it there before sitting back down to write!

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the gorgeous Memorial Day weekend!
