Simple Glaze For Baked Goods & Boxiki Review

With staple ingredients, this glaze recipe is easy to whip up on a moments notice and it’s the perfect finishing touch for your baked goods! I love to use it on top of banana bread, cinnamon rolls and donuts especially!

What is a cake without icing?

What are cinnamon rolls without a vanilla glaze?!

I wanted to share a quick icing glaze recipe with y’all today. I use this recipe so much I don’t even measure anything! It has just become the finishing touch to many of my baked goods.

If you’ve had my cinnamon morning rolls at the Rustic Honey Boutique Showroom then you have had this icing glaze! Just like my grandma makes it! 🙂

I recently made this glaze to top off a homemade banana bread. I used my new Boxiki loaf baking pan and loved it!

Boxiki pans have a textured, flexible and non-stick silicone base making them perfect for removing cakes and breads easily! I had no trouble at all removing my banana bread…

I just had trouble not eating it before I got it to the cutting board…

I’m telling you, the glaze makes it irresistible! You can grab my banana bread recipe here.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-2 c. powdered sugar (add until you get the right consistency)

Directions:

  1. Melt the butter in the microwave. Then add the vanilla and begin to whisk in the powdered sugar, 1/4 c. at a time. Continue to add powdered sugar until you reach the desired consistency.
  2. For donuts, I like it to be thin but for breads and rolls I usually make it a little thicker. You can also add a little milk if you want a thinner glaze (see my simple donut recipe and glaze here.)
  3. Glaze away and enjoy!!!

And pin the icing glaze recipe for later…

I used the Boxiki square pan the other night to make these delicious, Pioneer Woman no-bake peanut butter bar cookies for a private Rustic Honey shopping party. They sat up great and were so easy to remove from the pan because the silicone is so flexible!

The non-stick nature of these pans is going to come in handy! (Not that I ever ruin a cake trying to flip it out of the pan! Haha! You know you’ve been there too!) 😉

I cut the bar cookies into small squares and arranged on a cake stand for serving.
