DIY Pancake Mix

DIY Pancake Mix

I’ve become so accustomed to making my own pancakes and biscuits I hardly ever think to buy them anymore! I will usually just whip up this recipe or this one for pancakes on a random Saturday morning but recently I decided to simplify the process even further by creating a DIY Pancake Mix to keep on hand in my pantry.

Now all the measuring of the dry ingredients is already done and ready to go whenever my family says “PANCAKES PLEASE!”

… or when I’m having a craving for some comfort food! Which is just about every week!

Here’s how you can DIY pancake mix for your pantry:

Ingredients:

  • 4 c. Flour
  • 4 Tbsp. Baking Powder
  • 2 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 4 Tbsp. Sugar
  • Cinnamon, optional to taste

Sift or gently stir all the dry ingredients together and store in an air tight container. I use another container similar to the one that holds my flour. Be sure to label your container!

To Make Pancakes:

  • 2 c. Pancake Mix (half of the prepared mix recipe above)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 – 2 c. Milk
  • 3 Tbsp Melted Butter
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla Extract

Combine the wet ingredients and gently stir into two cups of your pancake mix. Don’t over mix! Allow to rest a few minutes while warming your skillet or griddle. I like to drop them using a 1/3 c. measuring cup. Recipe will make about 15-18 pancakes.

Feel free to double the recipe or cut the full preparation in half. This is simply what works best for my family and I thought it would be worth sharing with you!

  1. I could have used this recipe last week. I was looking for a good one in my cookbooks and found nothing I liked. I resorted to using bisquick which is what I was trying to avoid. Oh well!

Thanks for the recipe, I’ll be using it later on 🙂
